Trumps in Manila

MANILA, Philippines - Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, sons of billionaire Donald Trump, today flew in to the country to lead the groundbreaking ceremony of Century Properties Group, Inc.'s Trump Tower Manila.

The Trump children are both executive vice presidents for development and acquisitions of the Trump organization.

"We're really excited to bring the Trump brand to the Philippines," Don Jr. said during today's press briefing at the Manila Peninsula.

Eric added: "We wanted to have the best building and I think this is it."

Trump Tower Manila is a $150-million residential development that will rise at Century City in Makati. It will carry the Trump brand name and mark under license from the New York-based firm.

In a video message, Donald Trump said that Trump Tower Manila will be "nothing like you've seen before."

"I will be there soon," he promised.

Highest residential development

With 56 storeys, Trump Tower Manila is poised to be the highest residential development in the country.

"The fact that a Trump-branded development is rising in the Philippines is a testament to the increased confidence of the international sector in our country's potential to become a world-class destination," said Century Properties managing director and Trump Tower Manila project head Robbie Antonio.

Trump Tower Manila's groundbreaking ceremony also marked the formal opening of its showroom at the Pacific Star Building in Makati.

"We have already sold 70 percent of our units since we launched eight months ago," said Century Properties chairman Jose E.B. Antonio.

Free stay at Trump hotels for top agents

Recognizing the hard work of Trump Tower Manila's sales team, Eric announced that they will be rewarding the top agents with a free stay at any of the Trump Hotels.

The elder Antonio, meanwhile, said that they will be announcing the next Trump project in Manila if they are able to sell all Trump Tower Manila units in two months.

As it had done with a similarl high end project last year, Century Properties also held an invitational cocktail event with Trump Tower Manila investors for the benefit of Operation Smile Philippines (OSP).

Each Trump unit sold during the event will automatically amount to a P50,000 donation to OSP, which holds medical missions for children with cleft lip and cleft palate deformities.

Don Jr. and Robbie Antonio are supporters and members of the board of Operation Smile International and Philippines, respectively.

The Trumps are scheduled to attend an OSP medical mission in Manila tomorrow.
